What a wonderful book to read!
What a fascinating way of expressing thoughts!
What a marvelous way of explanation through examples!
What a creative and determined vision of getting all
important ideas into a short write-up!
This book perhaps proves to be an engaging material with so
much experience and knowledge of the author all aiming at showing “No, all
religions do NOT get us to God!” The book is equipped with practical ways and
tactics on dealing various issues associated with the major concern. It is not
just defensive in its composition but devotional in its ending. The book is
quite appropriate for our soil where learners or students can get a wide range
of fascinating information and tactics to evangelize.
The book is equipped with comparative religions in its short
journey. One can observe how religions really differ from one another and how
Jesus gets beyond all the religions, their leaders, their teachings and their
goals. The author aims at providing reasonable cursor showing all the world
interactions indeed show Jesus is Hobson’s choice. His layouts are systematic,
knowledge is fluent, examples are attractive and conclusions are
thought-provoking. I believe anyone can be benefitted from this short work!
‘All religions are one and same’ is indeed a slogan of every
conservative minds in our Nepal. This now extends to those minds who even
studies. It is one of the barrier to the evangelism and letting people know God
truly. The author helps us through his book on dealing this obstacles with
compelling analysis. It seems the author must have engaged in lots of research
works and well-acquainted with world affairs and news. Such a man of God can
obviously present his honest arguments not to disturb the society but to let a
typical mindset rethink their corrupted thoughts on religions and destination. He
does this not just with abstract philosophy but with very practical steps.
For the world, the question of religion may not matter more
than political affairs, scientific discoveries or developmental concerns. But
for us, the question of religion and spiritual quest matters as it is
associated with our birth, death, life and destiny. The political affairs
remains as far as the world remains, the scientific discoveries remains as far
as the world remains, the developments are done as far the world lives but what
shall be our concern after we die? What shall be our concern of our life? The
author makes enough effort to show why this subject is very important to us and
how our choice today can impact our life tomorrow!
Finally, the Chapter 9 of this book itself provides a Bird’s
Eye view of the totality of the content. The author has spent enough fuel to
elaborate that it is ludicrous to claim that it does not matter what we believe
as long as we are sincere. Clearly our actions on any topic spring from what we
believe about it. It is equally foolish to imagine that all religions are the
same. They are manifestly different in their conception of God, humanity,
salvation and the life to come. Nor is it more intelligent to claim that all
religions lead to God. For one thing the religions mean widely different things
by “God”, and for another they have widely different ideas of how to reach God.
So we begin to look at what makes Jesus Christ so special. Fundamentally it is because
whereas religions in general attempt to find ways for human beings to reach
God, Christianity at its purest maintains that it cannot be done, but that God
in His generosity has reached down to us men and women in the person of Jesus
Christ. In a word, Christianity is not a religion at all, but a revelation and
a rescue and an ensuing relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
We shall then examine what made Jesus so special compared
with other major religious leaders. And we shall find that He alone brought God
into our arena. He alone dealt radically with human wickedness. He alone broke
the barrier of death, and He alone of all religious leaders offers to come and live
within the hearts and lives of believers, so that He provides not only an example
to follow but also the power to do so, as He lives out something of His own
life through us.
Michael Green did a great work to be honest ad his book
shall be of great significance within a short time to the honest learners! Take
your time to read this book and don’t forget to share it with others if you are
really concerned about the topic he is dealing with!
