If you watch Superhero genre movies, Injustice animated
movie was recently released in 19th Oct, 2021. This animated movie
is indeed based on a video game of same name. Directed by Matt Peters, it is 78
minutes in length.
The story takes place on an alternate Earth in which the
Joker has tricked Superman into killing Lois Lane, sending the hero on a
rampage. This unhinged Superman decides to take control of Earth for its own
good, leading Batman and his allies to attempt to stop him.[1]
The storyline follows as;
Who will stand against The Man of Steel? When his world is
shattered by tragic events set in motion by the diabolical Joker, Superman
becomes hell-bent on enforcing peace... at any cost. The Man of Steel
begins a reign of tyranny that can only be stopped by one hero: Batman. The
splintered Justice League divides its ranks as the two former allies wage a
deadly battle for freedom. In this alternate world of chaos, loyalties are
tested, and the line between friend and foe blurs. Based on the critically
acclaimed Video Games, and graphic novel, Injustice unleashes and all-out war
fought by DC's mightiest. Can the world survive?[2]
Personally, I rarely watch movies in my current days but
when I watch, I watch from MARVEL and DC universe most often. I never watch
from entertainment perspective as usually people do. I just saw a trailer on
this movie and thought to watch this. Before that, obviously it was a video
game. This movie can also arrive in real action movie if WB agrees Snyder’s
proposals for DC universe.
It was not that long and has many violence embedded in it. Superman,
one of the most famous Superheroes in DC, turns out his madness explosion under
his unguided emotion due to tragedy of death of his pregnant Lois. This surely
can touch you as everyone knows the pain of such situation. Go through all
social movies. Hence, Superman turns to a dictator in name of maintaining peace
in this world. He acts like Pope of Vetican city to enforce his laws and severe
warning to criminals. He takes fierce control on everything. His team gets
fragmented into two groups and clashes begins resulting deaths. His ambition
was good but he adopted flawed approach and Batman was well aware of his faulty
concept. He becomes blind in his emotions that he starts even to kill everyone
randomly. That’s horrible! Finally, another Superman from an alternate Earth
had to be brought to fight against this madness. Lastly, Lois’ words to him
makes him realize how much mad he had been. He regrets so much and accepts any
sort of punishments.
Now, when I finished this movie, I loathed the whole story.
This movie was kind of disappointing. However, I realized something important
message for Christians esp. theologians and apologists.
Present age in Christian circle has more debates,
disagreements, fights and mockery among Christian theological and apologetics
ministries. Hatred is growing tremendously. Pinching one another with personal
attacks, fighting on varying theological positions, enforcing dogmatic
positions, protesting certain positions without analyzing its big picture, etc.
has become trending.
In this situation, many has gone through trauma and sadness.
I am also one of the victims. Many relationships are turned to cold war.
Intolerance, aggression, personal attacks, protest dedication, etc. are arising.
Some have indeed good goal and ambition in name of reformation but they fall
short in their approach. Rather being united in essentials, they land on war of
non- essentials. Some become dogmatic, others get away from their faith while
many falls in trap of heresies. Thus, the fragments expand.
Hence, we all need certain mentor and guide in our life.
There are giants in Christian theology and apologetics who have fallen in their
ethics due to lack of guidance and mentor. We need to remember tolerance,
respect, love and charity among Christian circles (Eph. 4:2). We belong to
Christ alone and guided by Holy Spirit.
We may feel depressed seeing denominational differences,
varying doctrinal positions and all stuffs. We get into severe emotions that
blinds our conscience. We take unusual approaches in name of reformation and
revolution to do something good under a good motive but lastly boom! You break
down yourself as well as your friends, your environment and all. Finally growing
into abomination! I regret to this day and I know many of my friends who have
realized this situation.
Christ, our Lord and Savior, has given us a great commission,
a great duty! We are ought to united in essentials and have freedom with
respect to one another under tolerance in non-essentials! Let not we fall into
blindness in our emotional act, and be in faulty and devastating approaches in
name of doing something good.
It is also true what scripture says about fragments among Christians in these days and how we all shall be triggered. But again, that’s not an excuse for our fallen mindset and behavior! This doesn’t mean we live haphazardly. The Bible indeed has a great practical ethics for us! We are told to be light and salt! We are urged to tolerate in love!
