My letter to Santa...

 

Dear Santa,

 Greetings! I grew up hearing about you a lot! When December comes, you get into highlight and people start to put you everywhere. They also have their "imaginary list of wishes" to give you. And its so funny that you never come to fulfil their wishes! Yeah, they treat you like a god! A jinn! You have earned a great favour from peoples around the world! 

But you know what? Sometimes I feel that you have taken the place of our Lord and Savior. Truly Santa, don't mind! I know, you were genuinely a good person in your time! I know who you really were and what you did in your time. For that, I honour you! But Santa, today you are not the same! Peoples have given you a new avatar! They treat you like a Central figure of Christmas! I feel very bad Santa! 

You know? I am not saying you are evil or you should get lost! You might also feel bad otherwise. peoples in Nepal here who have their heartily love towards their religion are raising their voice against you! To boycott you! If you were truly here, I think you would feel very sad. You would even cry out loud! Santa, look I don't hate you. But the way people treat you is the thing I hate the most. Some treat you like god while others like a villain! That makes me sad! 

Yes, you are popular amongst children and they enjoy you! However, while the world engage with you, they forget Jesus. You fought for Jesus' divinity back in your time yeah? that's cool Santa! We love you for your contribution! But you know what? Today its not you but your popularized avatars here spoiling the same Jesus! people don't care Jesus! wouldn't this make you sad either ? 

What about the churches? Many, even if not all, don't know your origin Santa! They enjoy your cap but they don't know where you came from! Funny right? But I would say our church is more accountable because they don't know about you and don't teach anything about you. would you be happy Santa? See? How the world has been using you today? I would bet that if you were here, you would be evangelizing more than any of us! But see Santa, you have been misused! You have become a god, an idol today! 

I don't have anything more to tell you but you know... people's mindset! Santa, you are good but we don't really need you today. You don't need to feel bad but even you don't want seeing Christ replaced. Yeah, if I would use you then I would tell others about you and then draw their attention towards Christ. The world doesn't do that! 

Please, Santa! I beg you! don't spoil our Christmas. Once you did great works for sake of Christ. Now let us do our works.
