What is an Adam's apple?

Adam's apple is just a funny plot extended through the Fall event. The basic idea is that Adam couldn't eat up the apple and a part of it got stuck inside his throat which later became throat bell. This is a hilarious idea that has nothing to do with our faith 😃😄!

What's more? It wasn't even an apple! There is nothing to suggest such tale except unnecessary extensions for certain superstitious or legendary explanations! In our typical Nepali community, we do have lots of such legends associated to human and animal origin and behaviours! Like 'laboratory of god Brahma' story that attempts to explain human origin which challenges the reader to test themselves by smelling their skin as the legend suggests we were made from hen's excretion! Or Cat teaching dog to climb tree from opposite body posture and since that time dog began chasing the cats! Or, the famous king and monkey story which explains why monkeys usually attack females!

Don't make excuses since most of these stories were in your school books!

Brief Story Behind the Adam’s Apple Legend:

The Adam’s apple legend comes from a mix of Jewish and Christian stories about the forbidden fruit in Genesis 3:6. According to folklore, when Adam ate the fruit (often pictured as an apple) from the Tree of Knowledge, a piece got stuck in his throat, creating the noticeable lump in men’s necks. This lump, called the laryngeal prominence, was named “Adam’s apple” in medieval times, possibly from the Latin pomum Adami (Adam’s apple), linking it to the biblical story. The tale is a creative explanation for a physical feature, not found in the Bible itself, but grew through religious and cultural storytelling.
