In past, Israelites saw the materialistic components, blessings, laws, regulations and miracles but Jews saw the embodiment (Christ) while today we live as the embodiment.
If book of Exodus was a picture and if we would zoom out then we would get a beautiful picture of Christ.
Whatever we observe in the Exodus, they turn out alive in our everyday life today. The concept is the same while the framework is different.
Exodus was a beautiful type of Christ. Whenever we watch the NT as a movie, we ought to get flashbacks from the Exodus.
Without Christ, whatever we read in the Exodus are
nothing but merely religious rituals.
This is indeed a beautiful portrayal of Christ and not just a book. It aids us how to see our Lord in the pages of the Exodus. Christ isn't just gem of NT but he is of OT as well. The OT points to him in varieties of typological ways and symbolism. In Christ, we can find the relevancy of the Exodus for us even today! We aren't historically the Israelites but we are on the same lane with them when Lord treats us!
NT for us is like history that repeats. The Exodus history repeats for us in our everyday life. The way Lord treated Israelites in the past, he does in same way today to us. The way Lord defined systems, rules and regulations for them, they are same for us even today. The only difference is, they saw the typology and symbolism while we possess the embodiment.
The Exodus explains what is Christ to us in our daily life. This is exactly what Christ-centered preaching or interpretation refers to. We ought to understand the scripture in light of Christ. The book provides NT passages so that we may connect them to understand the Exodus.
It’s hardly possible to comment on the subject matter this book is presenting. I got to learn a lot from this book about revelation of Christ in pages of OT. The author helps us to carry out careful exegesis and hermeneutical approach to understand Christ in more details from Exodus using keys from NT.
I would thank my Lord for choosing me as his temple,
priest and living sacrifice. I would thank him for letting me access to my
heavenly Father by purchasing me from his own blood and giving a new hope of
divine inheritance. Amen!
