All glory to Lord!

Let me begin with modern superhero movies and characters. We really enjoy watching these awesome movies which is beyond human caliber. Being exhausted with reality of boring life and often painful suffering, we often want to have such a life, don't we? We really enjoy watching superpowers and how superheroes take challenge to save the world from powerful villains. For instance, Superman saving a plane in Superman Returns, Ironman bonding the splitting ship in Spiderman Home coming, Three Spidermen united to defeat their villains in Spiderman NWH, Batman using his awesome tactics and always prepared at every situation, and many more! These adventures really fascinate us.

What's more? We must have certain preferences in our life and so the case is with these movies and characters too. Some might prefer DC, others might prefer MARVEL while some other might prefer other genres. We feel joy when people talk about these characters and glorify them. We feel angry when someone insults our favorite character or movie. We delight in their glory and praise, don't we? We love talking about them! We might have T-shirts, Rucksack, cell-phone covers or anything else which contains their posters or logo! We love to spend time watching them in movies! We tend to dream about them! We tend to relate ourselves with them! Well, don’t get worried, I don’t mean to say it is bad! But this is a human nature!

Now, let’s get into our main concern, a spiritual dimension! We are believers in Christ, right? Jesus isn't just Savior but also our Lord and King. He is indeed our God, the creator, the preserver, the provider and the sustainer! He is more or even beyond than our favorite ‘fictional’ superhero characters. How much should we delight when others glorify and praise Jesus? Christians often write "all glory to God" in their posts or chat remark in social media platforms, why? It’s because all glory is ultimately of God (Isa. 42:8) and he created us and interacts with us for his own glory! We delight in the Gospel, we delight in sharing what Jesus did, we rejoice when someone praises him. We get angry or upset when Jesus is misrepresented, when he is mocked, when he is insulted, when his counterfeits are made, and when he is protested. We know superheroes are fictional works and we rejoice in them so much! We delight in their movies, share them with friends, promote them worldwide with excellent reviews. What about the Gospel and our greatest Savior Jesus? He is unexplainable and beyond what we can imagine! Should not we be eager to share his Gospel, his deeds, his relationship with us, his essence in our life? If we can delight and rejoice so much in fictional works, why then we cannot rejoice in an absolute?

All glory to God, whatever we do, we do for his glory (1 Cor. 10:31, Col. 3:17). We let him increase in our life (Gal. 2:20). He made us for his own purpose and glory. He wants a beautiful fellowship with us to eternity. He rescued us from horrible eternal consequence. He reconciled us back to God-head (2 Cor. 5:19). He was tempted with human weakness but never stumbled (Heb. 4:15). He repaired and bonded our broken state. He crushed demonic powers. He dealt wisely with Satan’s captive tricks. Despite being an emotional person, he wisely acted throughout his life. He was victorious warrior in spiritual battle. He has done more than what our favorite superhero characters have done in movies. We enjoy these movies but when we see our world, we realize that we were delighting in a fictional world. The real world is still suffering. However, the hope boosts us up when we remind ourselves that Jesus is indeed with us! He is the only ultimate hero! The world is under suffer but Jesus is with us to share his victory (John 16:33)!

We often enjoy and share superhero movies and characters. We delight when someone praises our favorite character. How much is that in our case in regard to the Gospel and what Jesus has done for us?
