I ain't defending whether the earth is young or old. I ain't defending or speaking against the Gap theory or other alternatives. I ain't making the case whether the deaths of animals existed even before the Fall. I ain't painting here historical development of creation doctrines. I am showing the ignorance of our Bible teachers!

Dear respected Bible teachers!
If you believe there was no death of animals, there were literally no predators before the fall, then don't ever think of bridging science and scripture using traditional theories such as Gap theory. I have found amazing Bible teachers who teach the original creation was purely a vegetarian, even Tyrex didn't eat meat, and still they teach Gap theory just to quench query of earth could be very old?
The case of earth being very old isn't just about the timeline. This shows ignorance of our Bible teachers and they should at least think about their misleading teaching! Jerry Thomas from Indian apologetics ministry Sakshi noted this when he was answering objection of Dr. Zakir Naik. He used a model of Dr. Gerald Schroeder which works with Time dilation theory and demonstrated how his model doesn't just deal with time but also corresponding events! Now, if they think there wasn't any predators before the fall, why do they talk even about Gap theory which states an indefinite periods of time gap between Genesis 1:1-2? No, I am not doing any strawman fallacious reasoning here but instead simply exposing fallacious teaching of our Bible teachers! Where are the voice of teens and youths? Or, they just know how to play video games or dance in action songs or fall down during prayer session?
Personally I do not hold to Gap theory and I think it's an outdated view if we even spend time to research on creation doctrines. The Gap theory attempts to explain away fossils and scientific timeline of billions of years by putting large time gap between Genesis 1:1-2 before the creation week ever start. The only attempt this theory does is to preserve six days as normal days. If you check commentaries, many theologians in past held this view and even today many church leaders hold to this view who has been taught in a traditional way. Well, That's fine.
The problem lies here: Holding the Gap theory to show earth can be extremely old and yet teaching that no deaths of animals existed before the fall? How does that even work! seriously, what are they trying to teach? They should either teach Gap theory by making a strong and plausible case that there could have been deaths before the fall (and this can be made biblically!) otherwise they should defend for purely a young earth position as Ken Ham or answers in genesis does! I must salute him and his ministry for their honesty!
If any church leaders or Bible teachers or Sunday school teachers want to show a possibility of an old earth, they should also take time to understand what they are actually doing! They need to make strong possible case for deaths before the Fall! And if they ask why, this shows their ignorance - what happened in billion of years time span? The cycles of deaths and births of animals! How can they just think of timeline without considering the events?
Next, teaching no deaths before the Fall means all ecological system was consequence of the Fall? Then evolution was also consequence of the Fall! They should be thinking of these problems otherwise upcoming Gen Alfa would surely be headache to the church!
Now if you ask me my position, I hold to an old earth and possibility of deaths before the Fall. I already did a series on dinosaurs covering this topic! But I feel sad when I see Christian leaders, Bible teachers aren't cautious about what they are teaching and this becomes an opportunity of mockery from atheists, agnostics and other religions!
Finally I would end up my concern with some suggestions:
1) If you are convinced with an ancient earth, there are two possibilities: either go with an old earth with evolution which is technically "Theistic evolution" or go with an old earth without evolution which comes with varieties of models.
Check "biologos" for an old earth with evolution model.
Check "Dr. Hugh Ross" for an old earth without evolution model.
don't even try to talk about Dinosaurs in Noah's ark! They passed away 65 million years ago!
2) If you are taking side of a young earth, then go with answers in genesis team. There you can find good evidence for "no death before fall" but don't bring any theories except straightforward six days and Flood geology to explain all fossil evidence!
For the sake of the next generation — teach with consistency.
