Maddam sir: episode 377-380

Note: Readers must go through those episodes as this blog wouldn't include every details as it is not a tele-serial promotion blog. Thanks!

Major highlights:

1) Female cops get under serious trouble when a celebrity charges a character insult case against them. It was the consequences of a female humanoid robot cop who took the concerning issues of effect of tobacco as a national threat and went on street with sarcastic yet personal-attacking approach awareness against a celebrity who just acts in advertisement.

2) The celebrity gets furious about his public insult and charges a huge sum of money against the female cops. Despite several attempts of the female cops to confront him about the severe impact of his actions on public, he insisted that it's his job for his own survival and it depends upon public people whether they take his act in advertisement seriously or not.

3) Female cops then makes a plan. They knew business strategy that if celebrity stops the advertisement then there wouldn't be any demands from public which can then demotivate the company to avoid the production and stop surrogate advertising. Here the celebrity aren't entirely guilt because they don't know what's they are advertising. Peoples get easily influenced by famous celebrities and they tend to copy. In our Nepali context, we can see several celebrities involved in such advertisement such as Maha Jodi, Rajesh Hamal and so on. Even in Indian ads, we have Amitabh Bachan and other actors who helps in promotion of products.

4) Confronting the company and arresting the guilt was almost at success but the cops got into trouble when their robot cop unexpectedly defame the character of the celebrity giving him a tag of a criminal. Then the burden turned upon their team to pay a huge sum of money. However, they managed it with a mastermind plan when they used the celebrity's mindset against him. His small daughter was just taken by two cops at police station. A cop was simply playing with the kid. The kid was indeed her fan. The celebrity man was so furious that he arrived at the station searching his daughter. He was then cool when he saw she was safe until one scenario troubled him. The cop drank wine in front of the kid. The man scolded them. The kid really embraced the cop as her idol. And the cop was showing such manner. That would lead the kid to bad future. Now, the cops counsels the man with same scenario and uses his advertising issue that was destroying lives of many peoples. He understands and gets embarrassed. He then declares publicly that he was shameful for his actions. This saves life of a young boy whose mother was worried about his addiction.

Now, what's the whole point?

Here the Maddam sir (Haseena) said something very important:

"You have a greater responsibility for sake of your fans. Many people like you and impressed by you. They want to follow you and copy you. Your advertisement is leading them to destruction. With greater fame, comes greater responsibility. God gives fame to those who deserve and are capable of fulfilling it. So, please try to understand your responsibility."

The whole point is "Discipleship". We are called by God with particular calling and ministries. Our junior just sees us, follows us, copies us. Our ways of living and conduct creates a greater impact on them. They don't see Jesus here literally the way first century people did. But they try to see Jesus becoming alive and active in us. Our compromises in life leads others to destruction. And surely the Bible also says we shall get the reward in heaven the way we lived, and the way we served amongst people.

We cannot blame sin because we are already children of light. We are urged to fight against sin and put our sight on Jesus. The sin is the company who keeps manufacturing destructive items and sometimes it can trick us to advertise its products. It is our duty to be alert and be responsible. The scripture urges us to test everything, every spirit and always submit ourselves to spirit's leading. Our next generation grow up looking us. We must be a good example for them. Once people sees us and they are drawn near to Jesus, they come to saving faith and no more demands of sin! The greatest company gradually falls!

This is why Jesus is our best model who knew importance of being an example to lead others. He is our best example in discipleship as he knew his responsibility and the impact his conduct can have over peoples. Are we ready to take this challenge?

Themes and Associated Bible Verses

Discipleship and Responsibility

Theme: Influential figures (e.g., celebrities, believers) have a responsibility to lead others positively, as their actions are emulated, akin to the cops' leadership in the anti-tobacco campaign.

Matthew 5:16: “Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

Luke 6:40: “The student is not above the teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like their teacher.”

1 Timothy 4:12: “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.”

James 3:1: “Not many of you should become teachers, my fellow believers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly.”

Children of Light

Theme: Believers are called to live righteously, avoiding compromise with sin, similar to the cops’ fight against tobacco’s destructive influence.

Ephesians 5:8–9: “For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth).”

1 John 1:7: “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.”

John 8:12: “When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.’”

Testing Everything

Theme: Discernment is needed to avoid deception by sin (e.g., the tobacco company’s tactics), as the cops scrutinize manipulative advertising.

1 Thessalonians 5:21–22: “But test them all; hold on to what is good, reject every kind of evil.”

1 John 4:1: “Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.”

Philippians 1:9–10: “And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ.”

Jesus as the Model

Theme: Jesus exemplifies responsible influence and leadership, mirrored by the cops’ dedication to guiding the community.

John 13:15: “I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.”

1 Peter 2:21: “To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.”

Philippians 2:5–8: “In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant…”

Impact on the Next Generation

Theme: Our actions shape the next generation, as seen in the cops’ efforts to save a young boy from tobacco addiction.

Proverbs 22:6: “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.”

Deuteronomy 6:6–7: “These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road…”

2 Timothy 2:2: “And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.”

Fighting Sin

Theme: The tobacco company represents systemic sin, which believers must resist, as the cops confront its harmful practices.

Romans 12:21: “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”

Ephesians 6:12: “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

James 4:7: “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
